3/12/15 [Script/Notes]

So over the last two or so days, Meghan churned out the first draft of the script because Shelby and I were pretty brain dead on what to write. Huge props to Meghan for that.

The plan right now is to go through it over the next few days, tweak the formatting and legibility a bit, while also making lots of notes on various ideas and wording etc.

The group seems understandable a bit scattered right now due to Spring Break, but I think thanks to Meghan, we really got the ball rolling. After this script we can start to work on a storyboard, which I think Brian is going to do.

I'm hoping for us all to meet in person on Sunday afternoon/evening so we can figure out what's up for Monday.

In terms of the script, I want to go over with the group what we think would be doable/realistic within the timeframe, and mark those for the class presentation/progress update on Monday. We won't delete or remove anything, we will simply state what our opinions about the script is and await feedback from the class.

In terms of Logistics, I think we are going to have to cut down a lot and do some picking and choosing. Maybe we can also combine some stuff into single scenes, or have the Video Team cover one half of things while the Animation Team covers another half of things.

Casting:
We have three roles: an ANNOUNCER; a NORMAL STUDENT; and an ERGO ZOMBIE (or ZOMBIE for short)
- Meghan suggested that we use her boyfriend, Matt as the Announcer, since he wants to get into voice acting. I think we should have him read/record a few lines for us so we can get a feel of what he's all about.
- Shelby wanted to play the role of the Zombie, and I personally think that would be both a) fitting and b) easy, as Shelby is good at theatrical make-up etc. I also think the Zombie would be very deadpan.
- Normal Student: I don't have anybody in mind for that yet, I think we'll have to talk about it. I think we need somebody with moderate acting experience.

Crew:
- I (Dino) would place myself as Director of Photography/Videographer, and it would be nice if we could somehow manage to get another person to run a second camera so we don't have to redo as many shots/angles via one limited camera. We can also borrow an extra camera from Photo to shoot with. I'll brainstorm if I know anybody who would be down for helping us out.

- I have a lot more to ramble about/on my mind but my brain is going too fast for me right now, so this is it for me tonight.

You can view the first draft of the script here (Script v1); and the notes/response to Script v1 here.

  1. This is great so far. I like the idea of a "normal student" as much as a Zombie.
